Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE)
Assistance and resources
Blackbaud partners with Bluefin to provide a PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solution for organizations processing payments with Blackbaud Merchant Services. The solution encrypts cardholder data at the point of interaction in a PCI-approved ID Tech SREDKey P2PE device and decrypts data off-site in an approved hardware security module. This prevents clear-text cardholder data from entering your organization’s system or network and can significantly limit your organization’s annual PCI assessment.
Getting started
Point-to-point encryption is currently available for credit card processing in Blackbaud Altru, Blackbaud Church Management, Blackbaud CRM, and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT. Follow these steps to get started!
Step 1
- Sign up for the Bluefin P2PE solution
Step 2
- Follow the Bluefin-Blackbaud integration guide to activate your device
Note: If you previously used the device in another solution, contact your Bluefin relationship manager to have the device configured to work with your Blackbaud solution.
Step 3
Enable P2PE in your Blackbaud solution:
- Blackbaud Altru
- Blackbaud Church Management
- Blackbaud Guided Fundraising
- Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT
Note: For Blackbaud CRM, there are no additional steps to enable P2PE after you connect your Bluefin device to a workstation. For more information, see the Blackbaud CRM User Guide.
